Can I change what time my Garden Buddy digest arrives?

Yes. From your email preferences in My Account, you can set your weekly digest to any day of the week and any hour. The default is Sunday at 7:00 AM, but you can choose Friday evening for weekend planning, Monday morning for week-ahead updates, or any other time that suits your routine. Your new timing applies immediatelyu2014the next digest will arrive at your selected time.

How do I unsubscribe from Garden Buddy emails?

You can turn off your weekly digest anytime in your email preferences within My Account. You can also unsubscribe via the link in any emailu2014this automatically disables digest emails. If you change your mind, you can re-subscribe from My Account without any friction. Note that transactional emails (payment receipts, security notices) remain active unless you cancel your membership entirely.

Which emails from Garden Buddy can't I turn off?

Transactional emails cannot be disabled while your membership is active. These include signup confirmations, payment receipts, payment failure notifications, pre-renewal reminders (for annual tiers), and account security notices. This protects you by ensuring you're notified of all charges, payment issues, and account access changes. Only marketing and digest emails can be turned off.

Can I choose which planting method signals I receive in my emails?

Yes. Garden Buddy supports four planting schoolsu2014Traditional, Moon, Biodynamic, and Electroculture. Select your preferred school in your email preferences, and that school's signals will appear in the AI Digest section of your weekly email. You can change your chosen school anytime, and the next digest will reflect your new selection.

Why isn't my Garden Buddy weekly digest arriving?

First, check your spam and junk folders, and add admin@gardenbuddy.au to your contacts. If the digest shows as sent but isn't in your inbox, your email provider is filtering it. Pro members can verify status at /my-account/email-log/ . If it's stuck on 'queued' past your scheduled time, contact support. You can also try toggling the digest off and back on to refresh.

Digest on/off

Master toggle. When off, no weekly digest regardless of your tier. Turn back on and next Sunday’s digest arrives as normal.

When you unsubscribe via an email link, this is the setting that flips. You can re-subscribe from /my-account/ without any friction.

Preferred day and time

Sunday 07:00 is the default. Change to any day of the week and any hour.

Common timing choices

Sunday 07:00 — weekly review with coffee (default, most popular)
Friday 18:00 — planning for the weekend
Monday 06:00 — week-ahead first thing
Saturday 10:00 — post-breakfast, pre-garden-work read
Wednesday 20:00 — mid-week check-in, plan next few days

No wrong answer — pick whatever fits your routine.

Planting school

Pick one of Traditional / Moon / Biodynamic / Electroculture. This decides which school’s weekly signal appears in the AI Digest section of your email. See the digest page for what each school represents.

You can change schools any time — the next digest reflects the new pick.

Transactional emails

These are always on — you can’t turn them off without cancelling your membership:

Signup confirmation — immediately after signup
Payment receipt — every charge
Payment failure notifications — card declined, retry pending
Pre-renewal reminders — 5 days before your card is charged (annual tiers only)
Account security notices — password change, new login from unfamiliar device

Only the marketing / digest emails can be turned off. That’s deliberate — you need to know when your card is about to be charged, when a charge failed, and when your account is being accessed.

Other email controls

Pest alert frequency

Pro tier only. Default: included in the weekly digest. Optional: separate urgent pest alerts (immediate email when a relevant pest is peaking in your zone). Use sparingly — frequent alerts train you to ignore them.

Price alert subscriptions

Pro tier only. Subscribe to alerts for specific crops you grow — “email me if broccoli exceeds $8/kg” or “email me if eggs drop below $5/dozen”. Max 10 alerts per member.

If the digest is late or missing

Scheduled Sunday but didn’t arrive

Check /my-account/email-log/ (Pro only). Shows queued/sent status of the last 12 weekly digests. If “queued” past your scheduled time, the dispatcher had a hiccup — email us.

Showed as “sent” but not in your inbox

Your email provider is filtering. Check spam/junk. Add admin@gardenbuddy.au to contacts. Gmail users: mark one digest as “not spam” to train the filter.

Want to pause for a few weeks (e.g. you’re on holiday)

Toggle digest off, come back later. Or use the pause option — turn off for N weeks, auto-resume after. Preserves your settings.
