Terms of Service
The boring legal stuff. Written in plain English so anyone can read it.
Who we are
GardenBuddy.au is operated by Dutch Digital Dynamics Pty Limited (ABN 86 081 237 087), an Australian company based in Queensland. When this document says “we” or “us”, it means that company.
How your data is handled
Your account, your garden records and the photos you upload are stored on servers in Australia. Some features use trusted service providers to do their job: payments go through Stripe, and the AI features (photo checks, plant identification, starter plans and turning voice notes into records) send the request to an AI provider that may process it outside Australia. We only send what the feature needs to give you an answer. We never sell your data and we never share it with advertisers. What you get
Access to the features of the membership tier you signed up for, while your subscription is paid up. Free accounts get free-tier access for as long as the service exists.
We aim for 99% uptime but we are a small operation, not Amazon. If we have an outage, we will fix it as fast as we can.
What you owe us
Pay your subscription on time. Do not abuse the service (no scraping at scale, no reselling our data, no trying to break things). Be reasonable in support emails.
Refunds
We do not refund unused time or change of mind, on monthly or annual plans. You can cancel any time and your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, then nothing further is charged. If you are not sure a year suits you, start with a month.
None of this limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If the service is faulty, not fit for purpose or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy regardless of what this page says. Email support@gardenbuddy.au and we will sort it out.
Printed books
Our books are printed to order. You can cancel within 12 hours of ordering. After that your copy is being printed just for you, so we can’t accept change-of-mind cancellations or returns. If it arrives damaged or faulty, we’ll replace it or refund you. This doesn’t affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law. The full detail is on our Refunds and Returns page.
Cancellation
Cancel any time from your account page (My Account → Membership → Cancel). Your access continues until the end of the period you paid for. We do not retain your card details after cancellation.
Liability
GardenBuddy.au provides advice based on the data we have. We make every reasonable effort to be accurate, but we are not responsible for failed crops, dead plants, or financial losses arising from following our advice. Gardening involves judgement; the tool is meant to inform that judgement, not replace it.
Nothing in these terms removes any guarantee or right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a material way, we will email all members at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The current version is always at gardenbuddy.au/terms.
Third-party brand references
GardenBuddy.au references the trade names of Australian grocery retailers (Woolworths, Coles, Aldi and IGA) and the trade names of seed and garden suppliers in our growing guides. These references are made for the limited and lawful purpose of factual comparison and consumer information.
We are an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to any of the retailers or suppliers named on this site, unless we say so explicitly on the relevant page (for example, where a link is marked as a paid affiliate link).
All trademarks, logos and brand names referenced on GardenBuddy.au are the property of their respective owners. Where we display pricing attributed to a named retailer, that data is compiled from prices the retailer has published on their own public website, and is provided for personal, non-commercial reference only.
If you are a rights-holder and want data referencing your brand amended or removed, please follow the process on our data takedown page. We respond to verified requests within 5 business days and action them within 10 business days.
