Description

About This Planner

A cool temperate garden keeps you guessing. Spring is slow to get going, summer can be over before you have finished planting, autumn arrives with a warning, and winter can shut whole beds down. The GardenBuddy.au Garden Year 2027: Cool Temperate planner is built around that rhythm, so you can work out what to sow, transplant, harvest and restart before each season catches you out.

The planner is part planting guide, part garden diary and part record book. Each month gives you planting guidance for the Cool Temperate zone, seasonal climate notes and practical jobs for that part of the year. Moon phases and traditional moon-planting guidance sit alongside sunrise and sunset times, so you can plan around the sky as well as the calendar. The crop pages cover vegetables, herbs, fruit and other crops, with planting timing, spacing, sunlight, watering, soil needs, suggested varieties, companion plants, pests and diseases.

Keep Your Own Record

Weekly pages hold rainfall, temperature, watering and notes. Seed tray and seedling records show what you started and how it came up. Monthly notes pages let you write down what worked and what definitely did not. Expected yields are listed on the crop pages, but the real test is your own harvest, so there is space to log what you picked, work out what your patch actually produced and what it was worth.

The year ends with a review. You can see which crops earned their place and which ones probably won’t be invited back in 2028. The planner is meant to be used, not kept on a coffee table. Take it to the shed, leave it on the potting bench and write in the margins. Record the frost that caught you out, the tomatoes that went mad, the carrots that never came up and the one crop you will grow again without a second thought.

By the end of 2027 you will have something more useful than a generic gardening guide: a record of how your own garden behaves in a Cool Temperate climate.
