There is a new panel on My Garden called My garden records. It is the notebook a good gardener keeps in the shed, except it lives with your beds and plants and it talks back.
You can now write down what you measure and what you do: soil moisture, pH, how much rain the gauge caught, when you watered, what you fed a bed, what ate what and whether the treatment worked, when the first tomato came off, how the compost is going, what seed you have in the tin, what you spent. Forty three kinds in all, sorted into eleven groups. Where the number means something, the card tells you straight away whether it is fine, worth watching, or needs doing something about. A pH reading is judged against the crop in that bed, not a generic range.
You will not see all forty three. That is on purpose. The panel looks at how you garden right now and shows the cards that fit. Two pots of lettuce on a balcony gets soil moisture, watering, and a diary line. A member with beds and plants and a month of readings gets compost, tanks, rotation and costs. Every card can be hidden, and anything not showing yet can be turned on any time you want it, including the ones from further up the ladder. The page says so in plain words: it is fine not to see everything, the dashboard grows with you, and it follows your way of gardening rather than the other way around.
Free members get a set number of records each month and always keep the latest reading of each kind. Starter and Pro are unlimited and keep every reading, so this September can be checked against last.
Two things we know are not there yet: a chart of your readings over time, and the same panel in the app. Both are on the list.
