What to do with the answer

Frost settles on the coldest, stillest, clearest nights, so a forecast minimum of 2°C in the open can easily mean ice on your low leaves. Tender crops (tomato, capsicum, basil, beans, cucumber, zucchini, pumpkin) are the ones to protect. Brassicas, peas, broad beans, garlic and onions shrug it off. A sheet of shade cloth, an old bed sheet or an upturned pot over seedlings before dark is enough for a light frost. Take it off in the morning.

What this page is not

This is a seven day forecast, not a last frost date table. We do not yet hold a frost date climatology per postcode. For the planting side, the planting guides are written per climate zone and already hold planting windows that keep tender crops clear of the usual frost months. Find your zone on the grow zone map.
